Help Emily Fry Through This Tragic Loss

This is Christy Burnham and Sarah Wimberley, sisters of Emily(Burnham) Fry.

Tragically, in the early morning hours of December 14th 2024, Emily’s husband, Gavin Fry, suddenly passed away. In an instant, Emily lost her best friend and husband. Ava, almost 2, lost her sweet Daddy. Their bond was precious to watch. Baby boy Fry (due 2025) will never meet the most important person in a boy’s life.

Gavin has been a beloved member of our family for 10 years. We will miss his humor and great smile. We watched Emily and Gavin go from girlfriend and boyfriend, engagement, wedding planning, marriage, deployment, moving states, new jobs, parenthood and many other trials. After many years of trying and heartache, they were blessed with sweet Ava. And most recently, Emily’s current pregnancy of four months. Through it all, Gavin and Emily remained strong and preserved.

Nothing will bring Gavin back or ease the pain Emily is experiencing. Her heart is breaking for herself and for her children. As she also knows first hand the pain of losing a parent at a young age.

To know Gavin, was to love him. Evidenced by his large circle of friends. Many have traveled long distances to the area to be together with Emily at this most difficult time. The shock of his sudden death is beyond what words can express.

It is with heavy hearts that we are asking you to pray for Emily, Ava, Gavin’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are also seeking to assist her financially in the coming weeks and holiday season, before other avenues of support become available through his employment and military. We are hoping to make this tragedy a little less overwhelming for Emily and to ease the financial part of having your life spun upside down all while your heart is breaking. As Emily said, she is living a nightmare.
