Hello friends, family, and community far and wide. I'm heartbroken to share that yesterday, my sister Emily's house burned down. The fire spread quickly, and caused a propane tank to explode. My sister and her spouse and their roommate had to flee immediately, along with their pets. One of their cats is still unaccounted for.

They were not able to grab any of their things - they had to prioritize their lives and flee without taking anything. As a result, they are left without a home and have lost everything except the clothes on their backs: no phones, credit cards, identity documents, valuables, or anything else.

Imagine everything you own, even your very roof and walls, going up in flame in an instant. This was their reality.
