Hi, my name is Michelle Sweisfort, and I’m reaching out to you today to share the story of Emily, a beautiful 1-year-old dilute calico, who was recently adopted by the loving Young family. Emily’s journey to find a forever home hasn’t been easy, and now, she’s facing her toughest challenge yet.
Emily was born outside in Perkiomenville, PA, and was rescued by her feeder in an effort to give her a better life indoors. From the very beginning, Emily showed herself to be an incredibly sweet, affectionate, and gentle cat who quickly won over the hearts of everyone who met her. In December, she was adopted by the Young family, and they couldn’t be happier to have her as part of their family. They adore her.
Sadly, Emily is the third foster I’ve had who has developed FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a rare but devastating disease. This past Friday, Emily was rushed to Metropolitan Vet Hospital after her condition worsened. She has been hospitalized since then, as the doctors work tirelessly to manage her symptoms. Over the weekend, fluid had to be drained twice from her chest, and she developed a fever. Emily is receiving around-the-clock care, and her new family is doing everything they can to save her.
The Young family loves Emily dearly, and they are fully committed to giving her the best chance at survival. However, the cost of her hospitalization and the medications required to treat FIP is extremely high. That’s where we come in.
We’re asking for your support to help cover Emily’s medical expenses. Every donation will go directly to Linda Young to help cover the costs of Emily’s hospitalization and the specialized treatment she needs to fight this terrible disease.
I am heartbroken to see a third foster of mine suffer from FIP, but I truly believe Emily has the strength and the love of her new family to fight this. If you can, please donate to help Emily get the care she deserves. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign to help spread the word. Every little bit helps, and together, we can give Emily a fighting chance.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
