Help Emily attend the Bolshoi Ballet Intensive

Hi, my name is Emily and I have been accepted to the 2023 Bolshoi Ballet Academy's Summer Intensive. I feel so honored to have been accepted to such a world-renowned program, it is an expensive program and a steep expense for my family. I have taken it upon myself to try and raise the money needed for this ballet intensive that will help me to further my dance education and that will surely help open doors for me. My goal is to raise all of the money myself. I have created this Go Fund Me account to help me reach my goal. In addition to this, I am babysitting on the weekends, and helping others where I can.

I am very grateful for my teachers who taught me how to dance and for my mother who has driven me to so many classes and rehearsals since I don't have my driver's license yet. My company director has been amazingly supportive and has encouraged me to apply to ballet intensives. Last year I attended an intensive at Olympic Ballet Academy, taking the Edmonds Ferry and then walking up the hill to my classes every day. This year’s Bolshoi Ballet Intensive is in Hartford, Connecticut. My Ballet teacher, who got her ballet training in Germany, has recommended that I go there. My family and I are planning for this, but we are starting a new business and things are tight. I have taken it upon myself to help financially in any way I can. Any money raised would be very helpful in covering the expense of travel, boarding and tuition.

The reason I want ballet to be a part of my future, and how I know this when I'm only 14 years old, is in the dance itself. Dancing is like nothing else to me on this planet. It helps me relieve the stress I feel from school tests and assignments by diverting my attention to something else. It also teaches me to get back up when I fall. The feeling that I have when I get off the stage after a dance is the best. It feels like I have just done something impossible, and I never want to give that feeling up. Being able to go to the Bolshoi Ballet intensive this year will help me improve my technique, so I don't have to give up that refreshing feeling.
