Help Emily and Family to fight for Bone Cancer

Dear friends, family, coworkers, and caring individuals:

My name is Mandy, a mother of 3 beautiful daughters. My 2nd daughter, Emily who is now 4 years old recent diagnosed Stage 3 of Osteosarcoma (bone) cancer on October 13, 2023. It is extremely rare in children under age 5. Although cancer cells haven’t spread to other organs yet, but they are highly possibility to have spread to several places within the bone.

Emily is a lovely girl who is very energize the entire day. Before we find out she was diagnosing bone cancer, she’s been feeling tired mostly during the day. She also has unexplained vomiting and high fever. We found out it is bone cancer when Emily took her to emergency room due to high fever of 106 degrees for 3 days. The Hospital admitted her to get CT scan. It makes our entire family world burden when doctor told us Emily’s 5 years survival rate is 57%.

My husband decided to be a stay-at-home father to take care Emily, while I’ll be the only family member to support all family financial need. But these lead to our financial burden to the medical bills (our health insurance has limited coverage), cancer treatments, drugs, future therapy, trials.

We are working closely with specialist of possibly procedures such as preforming chemotherapy (to shrink the tumor and kill cancer cells, then a surgery, which takes out the tumor and tissues surrounding. There might be more chemo trials in the future to kill any remaining cancer cells and lower the chances of the cancer coming back.
