Help Emily & family Recover from Traumatic Dog Attack

On Friday, March 7th, my life changed in an instant. I was driving home from picking up my 10-year-old triplets from school when we saw our neighbors' two dogs loose in the street. As I pulled onto our street, I witnessed the dogs almost get hit by a truck. I immediately got out of the car to alert our neighbors, but as soon as I got to the sidewalk, the dogs charged at me with full force and attacked.

The next few minutes were chaos and terror. I was bitten multiple times on my arms, back, and legs. I remember thinking about protecting my neck and face, and screaming for help while curling up into a ball. My children, who were just a few feet away, witnessed the entire attack front row seats still in the van on the line with 911.

Fortunately, a neighbor intervened and pulled the dogs off me, which the dogs turned and attacked him. My fiancé arrived simultaneously and got me and the neighbor to safety. I was rushed to UC Trauma Hospital, where I underwent surgery and spent two nights in the critical care unit.

The road to recovery will be long and challenging. I've had to undergo surgeries, and I'm still receiving treatment for my injuries. The physical pain has been excruciating, and the emotional toll seems to be even worse. My children are going to struggle to cope with what they witnessed, and I will do my best to support them through this traumatic experience. They're my number one.

As an insurance agent, I'm grateful to have coverage for my medical expenses. However, there will be reimbursements.

Your support will help me focus on my recovery, both physical and mental, without the added stress of financial burdens and allow me to focus on my children and their healing.
