Help Emily & Donnie with Elizabeth’s Medical & Vehicle Needs

From Emily & Donnie: I can’t believe my Elizabeth is almost 5 months! It has been a very emotional past few weeks. Elizabeth has a genetic condition called CCHS. While she sleeps, she cannot breathe all of her CO2 out. We had to make a big decision, and on February 13th, Elizabeth had a tracheotomy. During the first 7 days of recovery, Donnie and I couldn’t hold our baby girl. Now she’s recovered, and I enjoy having our snuggles back. There is still lots to learn about Elizabeth’s new lifestyle and we’re currently being trained on how to treat her medical needs when we get home. Hopefully, we’ll all be back home in May.

A big change and challenge we now face is that Elizabeth requires 24/7 adult supervision for her trach. Any time she is in the car with us, an adult has to be in the back watching her. She also has lots of extra portable equipment that needs to travel with her. With this in mind, we must upgrade our family car to accommodate her medical needs. We will now be a minivan family as it is the best choice for our family. As we are planning to transition Elizabeth from the hospital to our home, any donations given would greatly help us get a vehicle that would support her needs and provide assistance for her continual medical journey.
