Help Emily Attend Law School
Donation protected
Hello everyone! I'm Emily Godinez, a first-generation college graduate from Oakland, CA. After years of overcoming challenges to apply for and attend law school, I am finally on my way to realizing my dreams. This fall, I will begin my long-anticipated law school journey at Seattle U Law as a designated Scholar for Justice.
My aspiration to pursue a law degree began at a young age when I assisted various family and community members in navigating the criminal justice system. My active involvement in immigrants’ rights advocacy throughout the Bay Area has further solidified this passion.
Given the current political climate, with the administration's continuous threats to fundamental human rights and immigration policies, the need for legal professionals is more urgent than ever. My legal education will equip me to advocate for the rights of underrepresented groups. I aim to return to my community and use my knowledge to address the disparities in access to legal representation that I witnessed growing up.
Your donations will support my transition out of state and help me begin my first semester of law school without stress by covering the costs of my books, school supplies, and fees while I await the disbursement of my loans.
I am grateful for any support, whether donating or simply sharing my campaign with your network. Thank you for supporting my pursuit of a legal degree.
