We are writing this GoFundMe with an expression of deep gratitude.

As some of you may know, our niece, Emilisse Pokornik (age 14), was recently diagnosed with Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumors (PNETs), which came not even a year after she had a cancerous tumor removed, along with one of her ovaries. The process to diagnose her cancer took some time, and she was referred for treatment at UCLA.

To say this cancer flipped our family’s world upside down is an understatement, but we are here to help Emilisse fight this. Emilisse will be undergoing approximately 9 months of treatment (inpatient and outpatient) to kick her illness. Emilisse was dying to go to high school in the fall, and is devastated she will not be able to attend.

As many of you can imagine, there will be costs incurred from travel to missed work to hospitalizations and treatments. Allie and Scott are already doing their best to hold their family together while being faced with this obstacle, and Emilisse’s brother, Ryan is hanging in there every step of the way.

Any donation is appreciated during this time. Positivity and thoughts for the family go a long way too. We will be selling t-shirts and tank tops to help fundraise for Emilisse.
