Emilio Cordova, my sister-in-law’s brother, is facing one of the most difficult moments of his life. Recently, he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Ecuador. The accident left him with injuries that require urgent surgery, and the situation is made even more challenging by the ongoing public health emergency in the country. Because of this crisis, Emilio is unable to access the care he needs through the public health system and must cover all medical expenses on his own.
