Hi everyone, this is really hard for me to write, but I don’t know where else to turn. My husband, Emilio was just diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at only 28 years old, and our whole world has been flipped upside down. We have two beautiful daughters - our Priscilla, who adores her daddy, and our baby Lydia who just turned 4 months old. Watching our little one grow while Emilio struggles with symptoms some days is heartbreaking. Some mornings he wakes up feeling okay and can play with the girls, and other days are hard for him. The unpredictability of this disease is terrifying, especially with such a young baby who needs so much care.

I’m in nursing school trying to build a better future for our family, and I’m also working to keep things going. Most days I feel like I’m drowning trying to juggle everything - school, work, taking care of a 4-month-old and our older daughter, and now helping Emilio through this. I’m exhausted, but I keep pushing because that’s what you do for your family.

Emilio keeps apologizing to me, like this is somehow his fault. He feels guilty watching me carry so much, especially with our baby needing so much attention right now. But that’s not how marriage works. We’re supposed to be a team, and right now our team needs help.

Between doctor visits, treatments, and trying to manage everything at home with two little ones, we’re overwhelmed. MS doesn’t just affect Emilio, it affects all of us, including our girls who need their parents to be strong.
