Help Emilio Allocco in his Fight with Leukemia

Reaching out for help and Support

Anyone who knows My Dad, Emilio Allocco knows a happy, fun-loving, sweet, and funny man who adores his wife, kids and grandchildren. If you know him, you know he would give you the shirt off his back. He’s been there for so many people and has always helped out anyone who needed help. And always without question. Always. My Dad was always the “Rock” of the family. He and my mother were always the glue that held everything together, when it came to family and friends.

On Friday, February 12th he was admitted to St. Francis Hospital because of issues with his blood count.

Today we learned he has Leukemia.

AML leukemia.

My Dad hadn’t been feeling well for a little while now. It was only a day after I took him to the doctor for a neck pain that he got the call that there was more to the story. A blood test he had when we were at the doctors office had come back and he needed to get to the hospital immediately for a blood transfusion.

My Dad was then diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was admitted to the hospital on February 12th and expects to stay there to receive blood transfusions and treatments for the next 3-4 weeks. Once he’s released, he’ll need to return to the hospital for treatments. Those “treatments” are still being considered and discussed with his caring physicians at the time of this writing. What we do know is, insurance only covers “certain” treatments and medications. The financial burden will be much too great for my father to bare. And although, my sister, brother and I are doing all we can to help with the support and financial issues that arise, it still won’t be enough.

My Dad works as an architect and freelance artist from our home and at his age, he never wanted to retire or stop working. His sheer love of drawing, since he was a little boy, is his greatest love (besides my mother). But at this time of need, he won’t be able to work or support himself or my Mom because of his illness. They survive on a fixed income. Financially there’s only so much we can do as a family. The medical bills and financial burden and strain we are now enduring is totally overwhelming.

So, we are reaching out for any help and support of our family and friends.

Anything will help at this time of need and we thank you all in advance for your continued prayers and any help you may be able to provide.

Thank you. ❤️
