My name is Emilie. I’m one of two twins born on February 9th, 2021, and I have blood cancer. On January 31st, 2023, I was transferred from the emergency room at Trujillo Regional Hospital to Lima, the capital of Peru, to be seen in the neoplasm unit. There, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) by bone marrow aspiration.

Because the cancer is aggressive, treatment has not been as successful as we hoped. But, they gave me special care to stabilize my defenses so I can continue my treatment while living at home and visiting the hospital every 2 days. This treatment is spread out over the course of 3 years, and so far I’ve completed almost 2 years of intensive treatment. During this time, I’ve had some complications with tachycardia that we didn’t expect. Because of this, my family has no other option than to seek donations to raise funds that will make my recovery possible. These funds would support the costs of treatment, medications, food, transportation to the hospital, and other basic necessities.

My family’s faith in God, strength, and positivity will remain until we reach our goal and can say I’m finally cancer free and every cent was worth it! Love, support, and kindness come like gifts wrapped in hope from people we don’t know. If there is hope, there is faith, and if there is faith, we have the drive to keep going. Mi nombre es Emilie soy una de las gemelas nacidas el 9 de febrero del 2021 , y yo tengo cáncer en la sangre, el día 31 de enero del año 2023 fuí transferida de emergencia del hospital regional de Trujillo con destino a la ciudad de lima la capital de Perú con el seguro social, llegando el día 1 de febrero al hospital de neoplásicas donde fuí diagnosticada con leucemia linfoblástica aguda por medio de un aspirado de médula.

El resultado no fue muy exitoso ya que el cáncer que tengo es de grado agresivo, fui internada en cuidados especiales por el tiempo de 2 meses dónde lograron estabilizar mis defensas y así poder seguir mi tratamiento desde casa visitando el hospital cada 2 días. Mi tratamiento tiene un tiempo de 3 años, y hasta el momento voy 1 año y 10 meses de tratamiento intensivo. Durante este tiempo tuve complicaciones con principios de taquicardia. Es por ello que no hay mayor opción y venimos solicitando su donación para la recaudación de fondos que harán posible mi recuperación para el tratamiento que cubrirá el gasto de medicamentos, alimentación, transportes, cosas básicas, etc.

La fe en Dios de mi familia, fuerzas y positivismo siempre están y estarán presentes hasta llegar el momento de cumplir la meta y poder decir que estoy limpia por fin y que cada centavo lo vale! El amor, el apoyo y la amabilidad vienen como regalos con envoltura de esperanza de personas que no conocemos. Si hay esperanza, hay fé, y si hay fé, tenemos ese motor que nos mueve para seguir adelante, todos estamos aquí para ayudarnos unos a otros. Cuando estamos juntos, podemos cumplir cualquier cosa.
