Emiliano Alvarez Meza, my dear friend in Mexico, has endured unimaginable pain and suffering due to severe medical maltreatment. What began as a routine treatment for kidney stones in Guadalajara turned into a traumatic ordeal. Instead of receiving the care he needed, Emiliano was subjected to a series of poorly performed surgeries and neglectful treatment that left him with festering, pus-filled open wounds in his intestines. The consequences have been devastating: he now has only one kidney, a colostomy bag, a physically warped abdomen, and faces daily pain, infections, and a drastically altered quality of life.

Emiliano has undergone eight different surgeries and endless hospitalizations due to infections, and, initially, he did not receive any antibiotics to treat his incised wounds. The physical and emotional toll of these eight surgeries and months in the hospital have left him exhausted and desperate for hope. Despite everything, Emiliano remains determined to recover and is trying to rectify the horrific conditions he has endured due to medical incompetence and malpractice, but he cannot do it alone.

The funds raised will go directly to Emiliano so he can access private medical care, including surgery to reconnect his intestines, hospital stays, medications, and the supplies necessary for a successful recovery. After a year, the hope is that he can return to the private doctor to remove the hernia that was discovered during this ordeal.
