Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Danielle, and I decided to start a GoFundMe for my cousin Alejandra Benitez and her son who at 25 weeks pregnant was found to have a heart malformation.

Emiliano was born with CCTGA plus an ASD and VSD. In a CCTGA, the ventricles and valves of the heart are reversed, which means the left ventricle and mitral valve do the easy job of pumping blood to the lungs and the right ventricle and tricuspid valve are required to do the harder job of pumping blood to the rest of the body. This role reversal can work in the short term, but when the heart’s weaker parts handle the hardest jobs, it makes the heart less efficient and more prone to wearing down prematurely.

Since he was born, he has faced numerous challenges, and we have done everything in our power to provide him with the care he needs.

Emiliano is in urgent need of open-heart surgery. He has been treated at the Maria Hospital in Honduras by pediatric cardiologists, however the resources at the hospital are very limited, which has prompted us to look for hospitals abroad that can help us find hope for this little angel who has been fighting for his life since he was in his mother's womb. We know and anticipate that this will be quite costly, so we feel the need to ask for help through this fundraising portal.

He has needed this surgery for a long time, and we believe that time is running out and we need to find help soon as his physical and neurological growth has been slow due to the condition of his heart that does not allow him to grow normally.

The latest x-ray shows an exaggerated enlargement of his heart which has us very concerned and desperate to find help.

We totally understand that asking can be a challenge and can hit everyone differently, a donation and or a prayer would be greatly appreciated. This little angel is a heart warrior and I truly believe that God is already working through him and will make anything possible. Emiliano nació con CCTGA más una CIA y una CIV. Este angelito es un guerrero del corazón, y realmente creo que Dios ya está trabajando a través de él y hará que todo sea posible. Todos estamos muy agradecidos por su amor y apoyo durante un momento tan abrumador.
