Help EMi, Noodle, and Pepper with a New Home
Donation protected
The shortest version possible is that me and my pets need a new place to live but I don't have a lot of money to do that with.
Let me work on that long version for you, though. To start...
Hi, my name is EMiSpicer. I have a cat named Noodle and a dog named Pepper. I've been best known as a thirty-something good-for-nothing video game vagabond who traveled around the world working in games, music, tech, and art.
I've been unemployed for over a year now though, have become medically disabled, and am in the process of being declared legally so as well. On top of those situations, at the beginning of June I was given notice that the building I've lived in since 2017 needs to be renovated. So I have to find a new place to live while having very limited resources to do so.
While I've been managing to scrape by thanks to very low expenses and generous help from those close to me, it's not been without accruing debt and a complete loss of savings due to something called "the spend-down" process that comes with trying to get Disability benefits. These are not great conditions for securing a new apartment, and being as that I've already been homeless twice in my life I'd like to avoid a third round of that experience.
So here I am with this fundraiser! At the very least I'd love to be able to cover the expenses that come with applying for a new apartment like the first month of rent and deposit, plus bringing over my belongings. If possible, I'd also be grateful to work towards paying down my debt or even eliminating it completely. An absolute best case scenario would leave me with money I could put towards starting to furnish the new place and paying future rent, since I'll be adjusting to a new cost of living that I'm not gonna lie is scaring me quite a bit.
Anything you can do to help is appreciated. So many of us are in difficult positions, so if your financial situation is like mine even just sharing this would mean the world to me. I wish there were better safety nets in place for all of us. Hopefully within my lifetime there will be. In the mean time, I hope you can help me.
