Help Emet Fight Epilepsy: Urgent Care Needed

Donativo protegido
Update 12/12/24: I would like to each and every one of you who has donated to our sweet baby Emet. I am truly beyond grateful all for the shares and dontions... Sadly Emet is not out of the woods yet

This morning we had Emet tranferred to our evryday vet for observation. Our vet sedated Emet, and kept him under observation all day. Emet went all day in their care with no seizures, so our vet discharged him back home with one additional new medication.

As of 6:27pm cst Emet had another seizure. While we caught this one as it begin, it was minor. We gave Emet a good dose of his after care medications and called the emergency vet/ neurologist...

Per emergency, have two options; option 1 being We monitor emet at home and if he has another being him in immediately. Option 2 we bring him back in now, they set up an IV with a concentrated dosage of Bromide, which could cause emet to have cardic issues.

We chose to monitor Emet at home as this was a minor seizure, but we will be going back to our normal vet in the morning.

If you can please share and share again.

Hello, my husband and I are asking for any help. Our corgi, Emet, was diagnosed with epilepsy in Sept 2023. We have been fighting alongside his little doggie neurologist to keep his seizures under control. Despite numerous medications several times a day, we managed his seizures to a minimum of every few weeks.

Today was a little different. Emet had two seizures within hours of each other. If you know anything about epilepsy in dogs, it's recommended they be seen by a vet if they have more than three in a 24-hour period. With that being said, after Emet's second seizure, my gut told me to take him to get checked over, just to be safe. Off we went to our emergency vet.

While the vet was explaining a plan of action, Emet had his third seizure. The vet scooped Emet into her arms and rushed him to the back where they were able to stop him from seizing. The vets placed an IV and are keeping him overnight to monitor him, and he will be seen by the neurologist in the morning...

We originally were quoted $3500 for his overnight care, blood work, and some other tests. Unfortunately, we did not have that amount. However, we were able to create a game plan and lowered the cost to $1500ish.

I am asking for any help. We covered the $1500 up front, but that's all we had. If Emet needs additional care past tomorrow, I don't know what we will do. If you are unable to donate, can you please share?!

Emet is my entire world. This dog was placed on this earth so we can heal each other. I am a complete wreck.
