Dirty soles mean everything for a girl whose shoes had never hit the ground enough to get dirty until just recently. Emerson has had the opportunity to trial a revolutionary new robotic walking device called Trexo (check out https://trexorobotics.com/ for more info.) The Trexo allows her to walk independently and she has already logged more than 3,500 steps this year!

The benefits of walking are endless.  We've already seen her leg, trunk and neck strength improve and her muscle tone and range of motion is better too. It also helps tap into her brain's neuroplasticity and create new and improved pathways that will help her continue to gain strength and function.

We've just begun to build momentum using the Trexo and are really hoping we can continue. But our trial is over soon and like most innovative technology made for disabled children, the price is high and not covered by insurance. So we are hoping to raise the funds necessary to keep the Trexo for 10 more months to finish out 2022 and hopefully reach her goal of 25,000 steps.
