Help Emerson Jarmer march Blue Stars Drum Corps!

Hi, my name is Emerson Jarmer, and I'm 17 and just got awarded a contract with the world-class DCI group Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps. My passion is drumming! I come from a percussion family, and both my parents are professional drummers and teachers. I'm so excited to realize my dream of marching in drum corps. I have invested years of hard work, attended all the camps, and taken many lessons in preparation for this moment. Marching in a world-class DCI Drum Corps is a privilege, and I am already working hard to prepare for traveling across the country, spreading the culture, music, and art form of the marching/pageantry arts.

I started taking piano lessons at age 7, then moved to clarinet in band, then percussion, and started my journey in the award-winning Rex Putnam High School KINGSMEN THUNDER Drum Line in Milwaukie, OR. My mom, a professional percussionist/clinician, created this group in 2009, and at age 11, I joined and started my journey. I held positions on the multi-percussion rack, bass drum, and snare and am now a snare and battery leader at my drumline. I am also involved in leadership training in the drumline and am learning how to help others achieve their goals. We compete on NWAPA and WGI platforms in Oregon and the Northwest.

I have also won several local contests for rudimental speed and accuracy at local music stores. I currently take lessons from Brandon Olander (Blue Devils). I have attended the Alan Keown Drum Camp for five years and am accompanying my mom as a clinician when she travels to schools for workshops. I have recently started to help my mom teach at her sought-after drum/piano studio in Milwaukie, OR.

To help pay for the expenses of traveling, training, and performing all summer, I would love and appreciate your support. I intend to share my training and experience with my high school drumline and others at clinics and workshops.
