Emerald, a natural runner from her days as a zoomies plagued puppy, has been an energetic addition to our family ever since she was adopted back in 2022. Through forest hikes, running through the sound of OBX, and even aiding in the search for other lost animals, Emerald’s attention, stamina, and drive has never been haltered. In recent months her pace has slowed, with limping and visible pain bringing her to the vet for x-rays and tests, with the diagnosis grounding her for some time. Like many great athletes before her, Emerald has torn her ACL; and to avoid causing her further pain, a surgery is on her horizon. Yet still she wants to run, refusing to let this stop her no matter how we try and hold her back to avoid further pain. It’s with this in mind we feel the surgery is necessary, to allow her the opportunity to heal and continue her rambunctious escapades; and with that we graciously ask for your help, for any amount is appreciated.
