Ember chose us, our family, and we are going to persistently fight for him every step of the way. He's instantly become a radiant, blazing light as part of our family and daily lives. At the same time, over the past few weeks, he’s been having seizures, leading to a tentative diagnosis of a Congenital Liver Shunt.

We're reaching out to the community to assist us in getting to the bottom of his congenital condition and provide him with the care he deserves.

The medications, advanced procedures, tests, hospitalization, and imaging to get Ember what he needs are costing anywhere from 2-4K for imaging and medications, and 4-11K for the surgery.

Cornell's Dr. Goldstein says, "If the condition is recognized early, most cases of 'liver shunt' can be treated successfully by surgical closure."

With our local vet at Lemon Bay Animal Hospital and The University of Florida collaborating, we are on our way to getting Ember the immediate attention he needs.

The uncertainty and seeing our fur-baby go through seizures has been scary and heartbreaking, but we’re determined to do everything in our power to give Ember a truly happy beginning.

The funds raised will go directly to Ember’s testing and surgical procedure. We are confident that the surgery at The University of Florida will save his life.
