Hello everyone, my name is Emani Simien, and I am a senior Criminal Justice major with a Sociology minor attending the illustrious Clark Atlanta University. I am not one to ask or beg for money, but I am truly in a difficult situation.
I successfully completed my first semester this past fall with a 3.25 GPA and was prepared to start this semester strong. However, as of today, January 13, 2026, my balance unexpectedly increased from $1,000 to $6,800 due to an error made by Residence Life, who failed to accurately add my housing costs until just a few hours ago.
After speaking with Student Accounts, I was informed that in order to remain financially enrolled, I must immediately enroll in a payment plan, which requires a $70 setup fee and a first payment of $1,610.
Because of this mistake, I am now at risk of losing my housing and being unenrolled from all six of my classes. This situation is extremely unfortunate and overwhelming, especially since it was out of my control.
I am asking for any help, support, shares, or donations, and I truly appreciate anything given to help me continue moving forward toward earning my degree.
Thank you all for your time, kindness, and support.
