Help Em stay in the UK
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Em and I came to the UK in 2022 to do a bachelor's degree in music. Now that I've graduated, I'm looking to get a visa so I can stay.
My found family is here. When I came to the UK, it was after 27 years of struggle with mental health issues, and financial issues because of that. Here in the UK, my whole life changed - mostly because of the people I met and how they enabled me to heal.
I'm now happy, I have a job, and my issues are a thing of the past. I graduated with high marks - after, in my "previous life", dropping out of several courses - and now I spend my free time making folk music to empower anyone else who's ever felt hopeless or "too different". I'm currently halfway through making an EP about the inherent sacredness I see in being transgender.
My found family, friends and musical collaborators are here. The people who carry me, who help me when my neurodivergence fails me, and who I love with all my heart, are here. Having to leave would feel like tearing down this beautiful life I've built. I want nothing more than to stay. But visas are expensive and I don't come from a wealthy background.
I've worked hard to save up, pushing myself to my limit. I've also had help from some wonderful friends - but despite our best efforts, we need some help.
If you have anything to spare, it would mean the world.
Any excess from this fundraiser will be put towards my next visa in a couple of years' time (it will need to be renewed).
Thank you endlessly!
