Help Em Reclaim Independence and Manage Their Medical Needs!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Em and I’m 24 years old. I'm living with multiple chronic illnesses that impact my daily life, including Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Gastroparesis, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and several painful bone deformities.
Managing these conditions is a full-time job, and unfortunately, most of my medical costs fall entirely on me. Despite applying (multiple times over the last 2 years), I have been denied disability benefits, unemployment assistance, and food stamps. This month, I even had to take out a cash advance just to make rent. I do freelance work from home as often as I am able, but I'm barely making ends meet.
Currently, I am paying out of pocket for:
-Daily over-the-counter medications prescribed by my doctors
-All of my mobility aids
-Pain management tools such as heating pads and tens units
-Equipment to monitor my vitals (pulse oximeter, glucose monitor, blood pressure cuff, etc.)
-Electrolytes and Boost Protein Drinks
-Medical debt that has already added up to over $6,000
I'm reaching out for help because I urgently need several pieces of medical equipment to improve my quality of life and maintain my independence:
-A rollator walker for short distances and better support
-A shower chair to make basic hygiene safer and less exhausting
-A custom wheelchair suited to my personal needs to safely get around
Any funds raised will go directly toward purchasing these critical mobility aids, monthly medical expenses, and starting to chip away at my growing medical debt.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send some support my way, it would mean the world to me. Every bit helps — truly. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
