For the last two years, I have been suffering from a severe post covid illness, keeping me from my active lifestyle, the career I built, and my lifeblood: Dance.
I have missed all of you.
You may know me well from performing, teaching classes, or my many bright years as Director of Opps at Doggie Styles Pet Grooming. We may have crossed paths in NYC at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, or chase film-driving at a world cup downhill skate event.
...or I may be a stranger among all of us navigating a pandemic and the post-viral disaster that followed.
It will be two years this month since a neurological onset progressed into ongoing multi-system complications. The symptoms have continued to worsen through a fight to maintain a quality of life while testing and digging, working with the best in Western Medicine in the northeast, supported by local Eastern Medicine Practitioners and an exceptional primary care provider.
Following emerging and current research with my doctors, we seem to have a new reason for hope– Finally, an effective treatment to try:
Over the last year, a large community of PASC/long-haulers and ME/CFS patients have found relief from a treatment called H.E.L.P Apheresis, which is only currently available in a few European countries.
This treatment course is supported by my team of doctors and specialists, as well as the support of my partner, family, closest friends, and numerous research communities.
The substantial cost out of pocket during the last two years has not allowed me to save for this new opportunity.
Now I need your help to gather funds to take this action.
Understandably many of us cannot donate; consider sharing instead.
This may not be a permanent fix, but it shows promise to find progress and get out of this unsustainable regression. - At the very least, we can [literally] buy some time until better treatments and research appears.
It is hard for me to make this decision and ask for financial support, but if you’re able, any small amount helps. Even $5 or $10 will go a long way.
