Hi, I’m Marilyn Anita Bailey, professionally known as -- Em Anita — an actress working across both film and theatre.

I’m deeply honored to share that I’ve been selected to receive the Best Actress Award at the 2026 Montreal Independent Film Festival (MIFF) in Canada.

This recognition is more than a personal milestone — it represents years of persistence, creative growth, and faith in the power of storytelling.

My journey has taken me through both theatre and film, from the intimate space of the stage to the wide lens of the camera — each experience shaping the artist I am today.

Every independent film role, stage performance, late-night rehearsal, and moment of uncertainty has led to this incredible opportunity to stand among talented filmmakers and artists from around the world.

Being invited to attend MIFF in person and receive this award feels completely surreal — and I’d love your help getting there to accept it in person.

As an independent actress, I currently don’t have the resources to cover the full travel and accommodation costs to Montreal.
