Elvis Jusino Jr. has spent most of his life fighting a battle that few can imagine — a battle against Crohn’s disease that has now reached a critical point. This GoFundMe will help Elvis and his family cover the overwhelming medical, travel, and living expenses as he prepares for a life-saving small intestine transplant in Miami, Florida.

Elvis’s Story

Elvis was first diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at just 13 years old. Over the past 26 years, he has endured more than 10 major surgeries, countless hospital stays, and unimaginable pain. His condition has progressively worsened, and today, Elvis is living with only 90 centimeters of his small intestine — a condition known as short gut syndrome. This means his body can no longer absorb the nutrients it needs to survive.

Since his most recent hospitalization in September 2024 at AdventHealth Orlando, Elvis has been dependent on TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) — intravenous nutrition delivered through a PICC line for up to 18 hours a day. His veins are severely scarred from years of IV treatments, making every procedure more difficult and painful. Despite these challenges, Elvis continues to fight with courage and faith.

The Urgent Need

Elvis’s only chance for survival now is a small intestine transplant, which must be performed at a specialized transplant center in Miami, over three hours from his home in Mims, Florida. The transplant process will require frequent travel, extended stays near the hospital, and significant out-of-pocket expenses for medical care, housing, and recovery.

Elvis’s family, led by his brother Jaime Flores (the campaign organizer), is doing everything possible to support him through this journey. However, the financial burden is immense. Between medical bills, travel costs, and the need for long-term care after the transplant, the expenses far exceed what the family can manage alone.
