Elvira is a strong hardworking Christian woman who I am honored to have been able to know since I was about 8 years old. She is a wonderful mother and grandmother and has reached the hearts of so many of us who have lived abroad. In the past few months she was diagnosed with stage four cancer and had two surgeries, the last one being yesterday 11/14/19. Yesterday we all received terrible news that they are not able to take out the tumor growing inside of her due to it having taken over too much of her insides already. The doctors had to just sew her up and said with Chemo and Radiation she might be able to live upto 8 months more. This is a terrible shock to her small family and those of us who love her. They have extremely limited resources and even with help have exhausted all they have. Thank you to those who have already personally given to her. It is a long road ahead. By contributing to her and her daughter Evelyn and granddaughter (Lily-named after my mother), we can help with the time they have. She has blessed me and so many with her generosity and love throughout the years. I could never repay her for all she has done for me. Life comes and goes too quickly... lets join together to help with what we can. One of my favorite verses is "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." (Isaiah 61:1) Elvira and her family are definitely broken hearted and she is held captive by this terminal cancer and are living in a darkness they have never known. Join with me to help reduce one of the strains of this difficult and confusing time. Thank you in advance for your generosity and prayers. God bless you.
