As many of you know, my husband, Elvin Perez-Palermo, has been fighting the fight of his life. For those of you who weren't aware, he and i married and purchased our first home in 2018. Unfortunately, in the beginning of 2019, one phone call made time stand still. Elvin was diagnosed with stage 4C peritoneal carcinomatosis. There isn't a higher stage, its the worst of the worst. Things started moving quickly, port implantation, MINS fluid removal from his abdomen, CT's and finally chemotherapy. It's been two years of treatment but it's no longer working. Instead of continuing chemotherapy, his surgical oncologist has recommended a tumorectomy and HIPEC. This surgery is very extensive, he'll be under anesthesia for at east 8 hours. The hospital hes having surgery at is in Pittsburgh, PA. We will be staying in a hotel for 7 to 10 days following his procedure. We can barely afford normal bills, our savings are depleted. The fight of his life i referenced at the beginning will be the recovery from this upcoming surgery on march 15, 2021. Cancer has literally taken a toll on he and i in every way. The medical debt from the cost of treatment is staggering. Elvin receives disability, but it's not enough. Being his caretaker, due to the pandemic, prevents me from working with the public. We must take every possible precaution to keep not only Elvin healthy, but, also me.
When we married, i was 39 and Elvin was 49. We already had a late start with our relationship, cancer has made it worse. He is my best friend, hes my partner in crime, my ride or die. We need more time, not just a few years. Hes my person, and its so hard to know hes battling such a terrible disease.
Im not good at asking for for help, never have been. But, i am begging. Please donate what you can- every penny helps. Chemo, meds, labs & scans paired with hotel rooms and gas etc...
Please help lessen the burden of this life altering disease. Please help Elvin. Please help keep my husband alive and healthy.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!
