Help Elowyn fight for her life

Hello,

My name is Elowyn.

I unfortunately have Sacrococcygeal Teratoma, a rare birth condition that forms a tumor on the base of my spine/tailbone. It is unknown how it will impact my mobility or if it is cancerous or not. The tumor on my spine is growing 2cm every two weeks, after 7-8cm it will impact the blood flow to my brain & heart. Right now the tumor is 6cm & doesn't look to be getting any smaller. I have to go to the hospital 1-2 times a week to make sure my heart & brain are okay & I am not becoming anemic due to the lack of blood flow. Since every case of Sacrococcygeal Teratoma is different, the doctors have to approach each case differently. Which makes it all the more scary because there is nothing they can do but watch & pray.

My parents, Jayme & Kris are doing everything they can to help me. They bought their first house back in March, 2-3 hours from where they were living before (St. Louis, MO). Only a few weeks after moving in, I introduced myself.

My Daddy is a self employed computer programmer & my mom is still looking for work in the new area (with not much success) so we are without health insurance & my medical bills are stacking up high quickly. We were denied Medicaid & funds are very limited to get private healthcare. They are doing everything they can to make ends meet & prepare for me & help me.

If the tumor on my spine grows more, they will have to operate by taking me out of the womb, removing it & putting me back in. This comes with a lot of risks to my health & the doctors would rather not go this route unless absolutely necessary.

The other option is to take me out via Cesarean section, (C-section). Remove the tumor & stabilize me to the best of their abilities. However, I'm only 25 weeks old so I would be in the hospital for over 3 months to my due date fighting for my life. In that time, the bills will sky rocket & my mom definitely wont be able to work in that time due to recovering & having to be at my side. My daddy will working as hard as he can to save & prepare as much as he can, while also paying for everything else. Meanwhile, we have to travel 2-3 hours a few times a week to see specialists, doctors & surgeons to give me the best chance of survival I can get.

All funds will be going to my medical bills & to help bring me into the world healthy & strong.

A little background of who I am for the friends of friends helping out. I am the father of Elowyn. Her Birthday is supposed to be September 25th, however it looks like that date might be 2-3 months early to keep her alive.

I am self employed & run a computer programming company, which is successful. However, it can only help so much right now as medical bills from the past 5 months & more being added on weekly pile higher & higher. My wife & I just moved into our first home & are starting to make our way in the world. She is out of work since we moved to a new area but is currently trying as hard as she can to find a job. However, if Elowyn is forced into our world by this tumor in the next few weeks. Jayme wont be able to work at all to help our baby girl & without any medical insurance, things are going to get very difficult, very quickly. We are doing our best to prepare & make ends meet now but when it could easily be a $60,000 medical bill after Elowyn comes on top of a mortgage & the cost of living, least to say we are absolutely terrified. I'm working at least 60-80 hours a week trying to make it all work but I can only do so much. It has all happened so fast & the doctors can only do so much to help our little girl fight for her life.
