Hi! This fundraiser is for Elliott Wolf. As many of you may know by now, the neurologist diagnosed Elliott with Bilateral Perisylvian Polymicrogyria which simply means "too many little folds" in the brain. The signs and symptoms associated with the condition vary based on how much of the brain and which areas of the brain are affected; however, affected people may experience recurrent seizures (epilepsy); delayed mental and physical development; crossed eyes; problems with speech and swallowing; and muscle weakness or paralysis. The bilateral forms (affecting both sides of the brain) tend to cause more severe neurological problems.
The genetics team is conducting tests in an attempt to gather more insight into a possible cause of Elliott's multiple anomalies. Elliott is currently at home and much healthier than he was two weeks ago! As of now, Elliott and his parents are waiting for follow-up appointments with each specialist which will occur in 2-4 weeks. At that time they expect to stop his anti-acid medication, remove his feeding tube, stop the inhalant steroid, and hopefully take him off oxygen! Only time will tell. Please consider donating to Elliott's cause to help support his medical care and his family in this time of need.
Please check Elliott’s CaringBridge account for the family’s full story and journal updates!
