Diagnosis: Dermal Hemangiosarcoma (rare, terminal)
This is Elliott. He is one of my greatest former foster loves - a red-nose pitbull pulled from the Alabama sun where he spent his life living outdoors. THANK YOU, Ma Paws & Me Pet Rescue for saving him!
This sun-saturated life proved to be his greatest nemesis. Elliott has skin cancer. A very rare skin cancer prone to white and hairless dogs who have had extreme UV exposure.
Elliott's cancer has metastasized to the subcutaneous tissue which means that what comes next is the formation of internal tumors, which will ultimately rupture, cause internal bleeding and death.
To systemically slow the growth of the tumors and allow Elliott to live longer, he will receive 5 rounds of chemotherapy (Doxorubicin) - the first of which was completed on June 28, 2019. PLUS he'll receive cutting-edge Electrochemotherapy at the incision point where the original sarcoma was found on his belly; an electric current is applied to drive the chemo into the cells, causing less damage to the surrounding areas.
We'd like to raise funds for Elliott and his family to offset the cost of these very expensive treatments. ALL funds raised will go directly to his medical care. Elliott deserves to continue to live his best life here in Wisconsin with his FURever Moms, his pitbull sister, Beatrix, and his feline sister, Fiona.
Help us help them!
