Elliott is my 6-year-old son, and he has a heart full of kindness. As someone who manages a local shelter, I’ve brought Elliott with me a few times to help serve dinner. Those experiences made a big impression on him, and he wanted to donate his own money to help the un-housed for Christmas. I explained to him that after the holidays, donations and support often slow down, but the need in our community is still just as great. That’s when Elliott decided he wanted to do something special for his birthday instead—he wanted to help feed as many people as possible.

For his birthday, Elliott will be donating what he has saved from birthdays and holiday gifts. We plan to use these funds, along with any support we receive, to buy food and hand it out to people at the plaza in our town. Elliott doesn’t know about this fundraiser yet, so I hope we can surprise him and make his birthday truly special by helping as many people as we can. Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward making a difference for those who need it most.
