Elliott's Top Surgery Fund

My name is Elliott Lou Shepherd and I am 21 years old. I have been out as trans since I was 14, but have only recently been free to pursue the gender transition that has been so important to me for years. I have been on testosterone for over a year and a half now, which has helped my dysphoria immensely. I'm finally in a part of my life where getting top surgery makes sense, and I plan to do whatever I can to make that happen.

I am currently considering two doctors, but I did have a consult with one of them a while back and suspect the timeline on that surgeon will be shorter. I will update again once I have some more details, but I'm really excited to talk through my options. Fortunately, both surgeons accept my insurance plan, so although I won't have a price point until my consult happens and I can talk to my insurance provider, I am confident that I am much closer to my goal than ever before. I plan to continue raising funds in case of any unexpected expenses or medical concerns, for transportation to and from the hospital, and to make sure I am still able to manage my day-to-day expenses.

I have felt the outpouring of love and support from the people around me - both those who were able to donate and those who helped out by sharing a social media post or sending me kind words. I am so grateful for each and every donation, no matter how small, and for everyone who has supported me at each and every part of this journey. This is a period of transition for many of us in one way or another, and I am grateful to be surrounded by so much love.
