I’m reaching out on behalf of two of the most loving, selfless parents I know — Karrissa and Dakota — whose sweet 4-year-old son Elliot was recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
What started as unexplained bruising and body pain turned into every parent’s worst nightmare. On August 7th, they were told that Elliot has cancer. He remains in the hospital, where he’s already begun intensive treatment. The road ahead will include two years of chemotherapy and other intensive treatments. Along with the physical and emotional challenges that come with fighting leukemia.
Karrissa and Dakota are walking through this with incredible strength, all while continuing to care for their two other children. Their world was flipped upside down in an instant, but their focus remains completely on helping Elliot heal and being there for their family.
Elliot’s diagnosis has already created a huge financial strain as they are a single income household and are missing work to be with Elliott during the first few weeks of intensive treatments. This GoFundMe is here to help ease that burden so they can focus fully on Elliot’s care. Funds will go toward:
• Medical expenses not covered by insurance
• Time off work for Dakota to be with Elliot
• Childcare and support for their other two kids
• Meals, gas, and travel to and from the hospital
• Basic living costs that don’t pause when life gets turned upside down
They would never ask for this help themselves, but I know they have a community of people who love them and would do anything to support them right now.
How You Can Help
Please donate if you’re able. Every single bit makes a difference. If you’re not in a position to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. And most importantly, please keep Elliot and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Elliot would also love to receive “mail” during his hospital stay. Pictures drawn by family and friends, or photos of yourselves to hang on his wall, would brighten his days and remind him of all the people cheering him on. Seeing the faces and artwork from those who care about him will help keep his spirits up during his treatment. Please send to 5320 S Arabian Dr Sierra Vista, AZ 85650
This is going to be a long journey, but they don’t have to walk it alone. Thank you for standing with them.
