Help Ellie Recover from Heart Infection

Hi Friends,

Recently, Ellie, our favorite junkyard dog got sick, she had a high fever, lost weight rapidly, was low energy, and seemed despondent. I took her straight to the vet who didn't know what was wrong and had me take her to the emergency vet hospital immediately. After a few days in emergency care and some specialized tests with a cardiologist they finally figured out she had a heart infection called Endocarditis.

She'd never been sick before, so this all took us by surprise. She's finally home after 8 days in the hospital and though she's feeling better she isn't well yet. I'm so grateful to the vets for taking such good care of her and making it possible for her to come home to me. That being said, vet care as you know is not cheap and Ellie isn't in the clear yet, she will be on daily medication for the next six months.

I would normally never ask, and I feel a little weird about it, but I need your help because the vet bill has surpassed $15,000. I know many of you love Ellie and appreciate any help you can provide us.
