Ellie needs surgery on her tooth and her eye!
Ellie and I were brought together 3 years ago when she was 3 and I was struggling with my depression, PTSD, anxiety and chronic pain from debilitating arthritis and neuropathy along with symptoms from long Covid. I have now developed nerve dystrophy in my right foot and ankle which has chronic swelling redness and pain. Ellie has had quite a soothing impact on myself and my autistic son. He even takes over training her at home when she barks out the window or watches her when I have to go to appointments, that I cant take her to, x-rays MRIs etc… otherwise she is with me. My son has learned to love her and come outside of himself so she has been a godsend for both of us…
It so happened that we adopted her on my grandmother’s death anniversary, March 12, and her nickname was Ely! It was an omen! Kismet! Meant to be…
We have run into an emergency. She broke a tooth chewing on something hard… and she needs a mass on her eyelid removed before it gets larger and cant see in that eye. The vet says it will cost between 1300-3200 for both, so we only have to put her to sleep once, etc. If it does cost less, I plan to donate some to the MSPCA Angel who Helped bring Ellie, Damian and I together.
I am usually on the giving end even though we don’t have much, I make it a point to give to others and give back to people in need. I believe in kindness every day! Thats why this is so hard to ask for right now. I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t have to. Even just a little bit would help.
We are still doing the Doug Flutie Jr race in October- myself, My son and Ellie. Life will go on… kindness still goes on… thank you for listening…
