My dog Ellie had a pretty rapid onset of symptoms that worried me immensely, and my fears were confirmed: she was diagnosed with diabetes and was in diabetic ketoacidosis. The vet said I needed to take her to the emergency hospital in Springdale to get her hospitalized for 1-3 days minimum because I wouldn’t be able to regulate her at home with where she was at.

So far, I’ve spent $600 and was given an estimate of $3600 just for the next two days. I’m not worried about taking care of her long term after we get her in a normal place with my background in health care, and the long-term care won’t be beyond my financial means. However, I just had an enormous emergency car situation, and I’m not in a place to spend this kind of money for her hospitalization.
