My name is Ellie Krull and my dream is to be a professional dancer, performer, and choreographer. This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to study and create alongside Hubbard Street dancers and world-renowned guest choreographers in the Hubbard Street Summer Intensive in Chicago. I need your help to get there.

My parents tell me that I started dancing almost as soon as I could walk. I started my first dance classes at age 2 and, for the last 15 years, have trained extensively in all styles of dance including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Ballroom, Modern, and Hip Hop. I’m finishing my Junior year at the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts where I am studying dance, musical theatre, voice, and acting. This year, I was able to present my choreographic piece at state competition where I won Outstanding Choreography. Dance is a part of who I am and how I communicate with the world.

After graduation, my goal is to attend Pace University in New York City to study commercial dance, voice, and musical theater. Being a dancer requires a lot of sacrifice, by me and my parents. Fifteen years of dance tuition, dance shoes, costumes, and competition fees is very expensive. My mom works long hours for a nonprofit, and my dad is an entrepreneur starting a new business that doesn’t yet come with a salary. I see how hard my parents work to support everything I do and to provide opportunities for me and my brother. I babysit when I can and work as a lifeguard, but it is not enough to pay for my dance training and the opportunity to study in Chicago. With your help, I will be able to get one giant step closer to my dream.
