Please help this sweet little family get their car back on the road!  Ellie is a working, single mom of five-year-old Amalie, and they need a little help.  Their car is broken.   

Ellie and I share the same birthday.  We've been celebrating together for about 25 years!  I met Ellie when she was just 5 years old.  Now she has her own 5-year-old - Amalie.  I love seeing the tight bond they share!  Unfortunately, this sweet Mom and Daughter team has had a rough couple of years.  In August 2018, Ellie was in a car accident that left her with compound fractures in her right leg, resulting in multiple surgeries, lost time at work, and medical bills.  Even though it's been super challenging, I've watched Ellie push through it, returning to work after just a few weeks, buying a cheap used car, and literally getting back on her feet. 

COVID-19 complicated things for them.  Amalie should have started kindergarten this past August, finally giving Ellie relief from daycare expenses.  However, Amalie has a compromised immune system due to a medical condition that she was born with.  Amalie had to move into a home child care rather than kindergarten, creating extra expense. They stayed positive, though, doing what it takes to make it all work until the last few weeks when the car began to break down. They've been stranded several times, and Ellie has missed work.  

The car needs a new radiator, coils, spark plugs, and a list of other things that total an estimated $1500.

Having transportation is very important because of Amalie's medical condition and because Ellie is the sole provider for their family.  Public transportation is dangerous for Amalie during the pandemic due to her compromised immune system.  Ellie really needs her car so that she can take Amalie to home care and then get to work so that she can continue to provide for the two of them.
