Hey! My name is Elli and I am a 19 year old worker, student and community organizer in Washington, DC.

I’m raising funds because I’m struggling to cover basic living costs, and I don’t have a family safety net to fall back on.

I was kicked out of my home two weeks after I turned 18. I’ve been on my own ever since: no help with rent, food, medical bills, or emergencies. I’ve worked nonstop to stay stable in D.C., but the cost of living keeps rising and I’ve hit a point where my income isn’t matching what I need to survive.

This fundraiser is to help me cover the essentials I’m falling behind on:

• rent

• groceries

• medication and medical bills

• transportation for work/school

• basic expenses that keep me housed and functional

Nothing extra, just survival.

Most people know me through my photojournalism and community work on @elli_documents. I document this city, show up to events, and try to tell honest stories about the people who live here. I believe in mutual aid because people like me don’t have anyone else to rely on when things get tight.

Right now, I need support. I’m asking because I don’t have another option.
