Help Elham Recover After the Altadena Wildfire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Elham Bayati, and I’m an independent artist and self-employed photographer living in California. I’m raising funds for myself after losing everything I owned in the Altadena wildfire on January 8, 2025.
At the time of the fire, I was renting a home in Altadena and running my photography business full-time. The wildfire destroyed my rented home, my vehicle, and all of my personal belongings, including professional camera equipment, laptops, clothing, and essential items used in my daily work and life.
I have no family or support system, and since the fire, I’ve been displaced, living in unstable, temporary places. I also live with a disability, and the ongoing trauma and loss have placed me in a critical situation.
I am fundraising to cover the following expenses:
Essential photography equipment: To resume work and earn income again (camera, lenses, editing tools)
Housing and relocation costs: Rent, deposits, and temporary shelter assistance
Replacing essential photography equipment (cameras, lenses, laptop, lighting gear) so I can restart my work and rebuild my business
Basic needs: Food, clothing, personal care items, and transportation
Medical support: Pain management and supplies for my disability
I am doing my best to recover and rebuild, but I can’t do it alone. Any help you can give whether a donation or a share will truly make a difference. 100% of the funds raised will go directly toward the above-listed recovery expenses, and I will provide updates to remain transparent.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Elham Bayati
