Help El’Leon and Nena Regain Stability

Peace family,

I’m going to keep this short and to the point.

As many of you know I’m a single parent to a now 15 year old son, El’Leon Ifagbamila Collins. My El’Leon has a physical disability that has contributed to chronic health issues for many years. The challenge and struggle for me to get adequate medical care, treatment, medical equipment, and assistance for him has been a long and difficult process. So much so that on Dec 30th, 2024 I found myself rushing him to the emergency room at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He was then rushed to PICU ( pediatric intensive care unit) where he stood for 2 weeks and treated for pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, severe obstructive sleep apnea and an enlarged heart.

Our stay for treatment and rehabilitation at CHLA was a two month process. As difficult and painful as this process has been I am grateful to finally be in a place where his medical needs are being addressed and carefully monitored.

But, during that two month period I was not able to take work.

We are now back home continuing treatment and care.

This level of care also limits the amount of free time I have to take on work to catch up and I am feeling that burden heavy.

I’m reaching out to you, my community, for financial support.

Caring for a child with a disability and health issues is so expensive and requires a whole other level of time and attention.

I am asking for support for 3 months to aid in our transition back to health and stability.

I know so many of us are dealing with so many things in this fluctuating economy. And so whatever you can donate is welcome and greatly appreciated.
