I've lived in my current home since 2016, and while I don't own the house, it's been a place of stability for me. I worked as a dog groomer for years, but at 68, the job became too physically demanding and I had to step away. Also, I am an Army veteran. I served in the 1980s. My landlord and I have always had a great relationship—he's a private owner, not a big company or millionaire, and he relies on the rent to pay his mortgage.
Recently, both of my housemates moved on, leaving me responsible for the full rent. I simply can't afford that on my own. My landlord would never evict me, but if he can't cover the mortgage, he could lose the house. I've experienced homelessness before—not because of drugs or crime, but because of high rents and tough circumstances. It's a situation I hope to avoid again.
I'm asking for help to raise enough to cover two months of rent and expenses while I wait for my Social Security to start. This support would give me some breathing room and help my landlord as we work to fill the rooms. Any help you can offer would mean the world to me. Thank you all for your kindness and support.
