About a month ago, I underwent surgery because my doctor suspected cancer. Thankfully, I have insurance, so most of my medical expenses should be covered. However, as an independent contractor, if I’m not working, I’m not earning. While I’m ready and willing to take on remote jobs, there simply haven’t been any available lately—partly because of global events and economic instability that have disrupted opportunities and schedules.
This has left me in a tough spot. I’m doing my best to stay positive and focus on recovery, but the reality is that my regular income has taken a big hit. The bills don’t stop, and I still need to cover rent, groceries, utilities, and all my other monthly expenses while I get back on my feet and continue searching for work.
I never expected to be in this position, but I’m not afraid to ask for help. I know there are a lot of incredibly generous people out there, and it would be really cool if a few decided to help little old me. I’m trying not to rely too much on my very generous family, so any support—big or small—would mean the world to me. Thank you for reading and for considering a donation.
