Hello everyone, my name is Kelly and I’m Ellen’s older sister. Before the sun was up on New Year’s Eve 2025, Ellen called crying that her house was burning to the ground; the first floor of her apartment complex in Olympia had caught fire. She and the dogs had escaped danger (Zach wasn’t home) thankfully, but their entire life and 98% of their belongings hadn’t survived.

The apartment complex where they had been living did not have proper fire suppression in place. Now, because everything is destroyed by fire, smoke, fire fighting foam and water, they need help starting over from nothing. Elle and Zach need assistance not only replacing what renters insurance won’t, but they will need a place to live in the immediate (for now that’s a hotel not allowing 2 larger dogs), boarding for the dogs, clothes, groceries and dog food. In the future, they’ll need to replace everything else from furniture to coffee mugs and cutlery.

I don’t need to tell anyone that already knows Elle & Zach how wonderful they are, how hard they love their community, the people that surround them, and how hard they have worked to build their lovely life in Olympia. Now they need us to rally around them and show them the support and love they have always given and shown us.
