Help Elizabeth Wicks Rebuild Her Health at Home!

There’s no place like home! That’s why we are trying to raise money to help our beautiful friend, Elizabeth Wicks Subject, make her way back to Newfoundland.

 

In September of 2020, Elizabeth was in the process of putting together an exit strategy to come home from Ontario and then Covid hit. Shortly after the lockdowns began, her employer in the Travel Industry, terminated her position due a massive drop in their business. To add insult to injury, Elizabeth was then diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and she’s currently going through a rigorous course of chemotherapy and radiation treatment in Ontario. As soon as that’s done, she is coming home to rest and recuperate and let her family and friends take really good care of her.

 

During her treatment, she’s been unable to return to work – having to step away from a career in corporate travel that she really loves. Money is tight and, as we all know, the cost of everything is on the rise these days. Elizabeth will be unable to work for the next 6-8 months while she is recovering. Her friends and family don't want Elizabeth to have to worry about money right now when she's focused on her health. So we hope to raise enough money to cover medicines, travel and moving costs and to get her settled into a new place when she arrives in St. John's in mid December.

 

Elizabeth has so many people who love her and why wouldn't you love her? Her laugh! Her smile! Her great sense of humour! Her fabulous dance moves! Elizabeth brings her amazing energy and enthusiasm wherever she goes and this is a great time for us to send some of that joy and love right back to her.
