On November 10th, my wife Elizabeth suffered a severe cardiac arrest. I was there to start chest compressions until EMS arrived, but it took four shocks to restart her heart. She was life-flighted to Providence Portland Medical Center, where she suffered a major brain injury and is now in a coma, dependent on a ventilator. After nearly two weeks, the medical team believes she will never regain quality of life without 24/7 skilled nursing. We have made the heartbreaking decision to let God take over on Monday when she will be taken off the ventilator.
This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, and the financial burden is overwhelming. We have started this GoFundMe to help cover medical expenses and the costs that lie ahead. Your support means the world to us. Please like, comment, and share this post to help us reach more people who can assist during this crisis. Thank you for your kindness and support.
Update..... Sadly after 15 days on a ventilator and being in a coma our family lost our beautiful Elizabeth. She passed peacefully and surrounded by our family the evening of Monday 11/24. Getting quotes from the funeral homes, we are realizing that we are going to need help to give Elizabeth the burial she deserves. We appreciate all the kind words and well wishes. The outpouring of support has made this hurt just a tiny bit less. But when I see all the beautiful relationships that were strengthened or created, it provides a little bit of peace. Even through tragedy Elizabeth continues to have an effect strengthening our family.
