Hi there! My name is Elizabeth and I am the 24-year-old founder of BB’s Backyard Cat & Kitten Rescue located in Kissimmee, Florida. I work to help cats in need in my community and beyond through taking in cats and kittens, educating the public, and finding homes for said cats and kittens with owners who will love and cherish them for life.
I was contacted by Madison, a former coworker of mine roughly 1 month ago about helping out with a situation involving cats showing up at her house. At the time, I offered resources and advice but said I was full because I had 18 fosters and was maxed out on resources. Well, I now have 22 fosters but still am determined to help. Especially after Madison found homes for some of the kittens and had also taken in one of the kittens who was severely injured.
I have decided to take in the 2 main cats left from this scenario—the mother, Opal, and one of her kittens, Hallie. Opal is being spayed Friday 7/25 and Hallie will be spayed 7/30. I would also like to go back and help with the remaining cats and kittens in the area once Hallie and Opal are safe, vetted, and into forever homes. They are both lovely, sweet girls who deserve the absolute world and Madison and I, with your help, are determined to give it to them.
UPDATE: as of 8/2/25, Opal and Ruby (FKA Hallie) have been spayed and intaked into my rescue. They have ~$100 worth of boosters they still need, and I am raising funds for the other cats like Cheeto (the new cover photo) to get intaked and vetted as well.
If you are able to donate in any way, it would be greatly appreciated by myself and Madison. Even sharing this would be a huge, huge help. If you’d like to send supplies for them, you can purchase items off my Amazon Wishlist, which is on my rescue’s Facebook page but cannot be shared here due to GFM’s rules. Those items directly support Hallie, Opal, and the other cats and kittens in my care.
If you’d like to donate anything such as a gift card, please contact me directly.
