My dear friend needs our help, here is her story:
As a single mother of two, my heart is breaking as I watch my sweet 4-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, prepare for a battle no child should ever face. In just a few short months, her spinal curve has worsened dramatically. Doctors say we can no longer wait — the pressure on her spine now threatens her ability to use her arms and legs. On May 26, Elizabeth will be admitted for traction and multiple major spinal surgeries. We expect to be in the hospital until at least June 17, with time in the ICU, a feeding tube, and blood transfusions. The hospital is 3.5 hours away from home, adding heavy travel, lodging, and meal costs while I’m away from my 11-year-old and our support system. After surgery, Elizabeth will wear a halo and vest for three months. She’ll need constant care, medical equipment, and comfort items to help her heal through the pain and fear. I’m taking unpaid leave from work to stay by her side through July 1st. With no second income, we’re facing bills, lost wages, and rising medical expenses while trying to hold our family together. This has happened so fast. I’m scared, overwhelmed, and fighting with everything I have for my little girl. Elizabeth is bright, loving, and full of life — she deserves every chance to grow up strong and pain-free. We need your help to cover bills and household expenses during my leave, travel, gas, lodging, and hospital costs, recovery equipment and comfort items for Elizabeth, and groceries and necessities for our family. Any donation, share, or prayer would mean the world to us. Please help us fight for Elizabeth. Thank you for caring. From a scared but hopeful single mom of two
